- Employee Chatter
Customers do not want to walk into your place of business and hear your employees talking about their love lives or how much they can't wait to get off work and go drinking. Make it known to your employees that while there are customers around, they come first.
- Phone Tree Hell
If your customers can't easily reach the department they're trying to, you could easily lose them forever. Assess your phone tree and make sure that it routes the customer as simply as possible.
- Mobile Mania
Have you ever walked into a store and had to wait because an employee was on their phone and not paying attention? It says to a customer that they're not important enough and is disrespectful. Make sure that a no cell phone/personal computer policy is enforced. Customers will always tell others about bad experiences and service.
- Inconsistencies
If you have the best New York pizza, make sure it's the best every single time you serve it. When a customer is expecting the same thing they got the last time, it's a huge let down when they don't receive the same great experience.
- Welcome! (Or Not?)
There's nothing worse than walking into a business and being completely ignored. The same goes for the checkout process and dealing with an employee who isn't being friendly or even speaking to you. Your guests should never feel unwelcome or non-existant.
These five things may sound easy to avoid, but they could be happening right under your nose! Make sure to address these common issues with your employees to ensure your business is satisfying your customers at every turn.
