There's nothing worse than a lack of trust from prospective and current customers. These nine things will send them running for the hills quicker than you can do damage control. Avoid them at all costs:
1. Your brand does all the talking and you give no opportunities for interaction.
2. You're anti-social (you fail to leverage the huge benefits of social media).
3. Your content is only aimed to benefit your SEO rankings (AKA you sound like a robot).
4. You're unhelpful or fail to offer insight and relevant conversation to your taget audience.
5. You're never wrong, or are defensive when customers point out a mistake.
6. Your place of business is messy and unorganized.
7. Your website copy is bad (cheesy, cliche, or has blatant grammar/spelling/punctuation mistakes).
8. You don't provide details on your website of how to contact you.
9. You use questionable business tactics: Convoluted fine print, unsolicited emails, fabricated testimonials, difficult unsubscribe protocols, etc. (NEVER use these practices)
By avoiding these business-killers, you will not only strenthen your brand and develop deeper relationships with your audience, but your wallet will be fuller, as well.
